Thanks for your facts on my 100th post! (I counted 52, which is over half of 100, which is good enough for me.) I have really enjoyed running around the internet "meeting" new people and getting my little daily dose of all of your lives.
So, as far as my new year goes, obviously, I've not been very good at keeping up with blogging, but that's a direct reflection of my (lack of) fitness plan right now. I know that should be really concerning to me, but I've been embarrassingly okay with being a total couch potato lately. Until the past few days, it has just been too cold for me to fathom running outside. (Which is kind of silly because I used to live in Boone and would run in the snow...it just seems REALLY cold out.)
In all other areas of my life, however, I'm doing really well with my "little bit" resolution. Everyday I'm doing the little things that are consistently keeping my home, classroom, and life clean and organized. I've always LOVED cleaning and organizing (Instead of playing, I used to sort the toys into bins at day care.) but I'm really bad about letting things pile up and then tackling them and then letting them pile up and then tackling over and over again.
Which kind of reminds me of my athletic life...training really hard for a race and then just letting those pounds pile back on and my endurance dissolve. Eventually, I'm going to learn how to take the "little bit" approach with running too, but, until then... I've got a new race in mind!
Tomorrow, (I can't just not blog for 2 weeks and then use up all my news in one post!) I'll let you know my next race and training plan. I'm excited!
Stop it, do you live in Boone, NC? I have been there before! I met a friend one summer working at camp who introduced herself with the addage "I'm from the mountains." Being from Texas, I wasn't sure if that was supossed to mean something to me or not. She took a few of us up to Boone in July and it was beautiful! Granted, I was scared for my life as she drove up the mountains in standard car, but once we were up there I was amazed! Everything was so green and lovely. She even took us to some mountain that is the highest on the east side of the Mississippi?
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to get to Asheville, and I'm looking for a race there, too.
I went to college at Appalachian State in Boone. It IS so beautiful. I've only been up a few times since graduation. Asheville is really nice too. You have to let me know if you're doing an NC race and I'll see if I can get there too!
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that you're doing well with the "Little Bit" resolution is great. You can easily translate that "little bit" habit into fitness. And I am sure with all your cleaning and organizing you aren't being a total couch potato. This time of the school year is tough!
